As of 29 March 2025, new legal obligations apply to all operators of online marketplaces.

  • As the operator of an online marketplace, you are obliged to notify in writing all sellers who, via your online marketplace, put lubricants on the Belgian market through distance selling to private households or other end users about their obligations under the take-back scheme.
  • You should also check that these sellers are affiliated with Valorlub. You can find them on the Valorlub website (list of members) or register on the ROUND e-commerce platform. You will find them there as well.
  • If these sellers are not affiliated, there are two options:
    • You can include the quantity of lubricants these sellers have put on the Belgian market in your global declaration to Valorlub (in which case you must also submit a detailed list of these sellers to Valorlub) or
    • if you do not wish to do this, you must prevent these sellers from putting any more lubricants on the Belgian market via your online platform.
